Herrick Park
Herrick Park is owned by the Village and leased to the East Hampton Union Free School District for sports programs, primarily at the Middle School. Use of the park by the schools takes precedence over other usage. Use of the facilities at Herrick Park is by permit only with the exception of the swings, slides and other apparatus located in the park for the use of children and East Hampton School District classes during regular school hours.
The park is not available for non-recreational use, i.e., weddings, concerts, fundraisers, etc. All organizations and/or groups must file an application for use of Herrick Park with the East Hampton School District 10 days prior to the event. For further information call 329-4130.
Herrick Park Rules
The park is intended for the enjoyment and use of the entire East Hampton community. The following rules have been adopted to ensure the safety and welfare of all. Compliance and cooperation is encouraged.
There shall be none of the following:
- Archery
- Bicycle Riding
- Camping
- Digging as the Result of the Use of Metal Detecting Devices
- Fires or Open Burning of Any Kind
- Flying of Model Aircraft
- Gambling
- Golfing
- Motor Vehicles
- Possession and/or Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages
- Rollerblading on Tennis Courts
- Sleeping or Loitering From 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Walking of Pets
Violators may be punished by a fine not to exceed $250 or by imprisonment for a term not to exceed 15 days or both.
